A brown skinned man in a light striped shirt, bow tie, and Panama-style hat at a jaunty angle sits on roughhewn wooden bench with a black cat and tabby cat scooped up in his arms. The tabby seems to be trying to make an exit.
Very dapper man with premium kitten accessories. Photo from my collection, no documented date/info.

16.12.2024 00:10 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I hear ya! The choice is up to the operator here in the US. I run a saw daily and was encouraged from when I was green to always wear them. Now I feel naked running a saw without them haha. For me it’s just one less thing to think about when I’m experiencing 100+ decibels of noise at the same time 🤙

I know a lot of folks who run a saw for work and are competent operators. I can list the ones who wear chaps consistently on less than two hands. The average chainsaw injury costs about $14,000. Chaps are cheap

Weekend woodworking in the yard. These live edge table tops were sustainably harvested from a black walnut in NEPA. The plan is to finish them with danish oil. Wasn’t sold on the design of the base but the spruce pedestal is working well

When I lived down south I loved walking and riding bike in the Blackwater River watershed
Just saw this morning that a grassroots organization shut down plans to build a sewage treatment plant in the middle of the wetlands that would have had severe negative impact on this natural beauty

Man in Top Hat, indicating rich landowner faces group of ‘common’ folk having the following conversation Get off this estate What for? Because it’s mine Where did you get it? From my father Where did he get it? From his father And where did his father get it? He fought for it Well, we’ll fight you for it
Seems appropriate with today’s landowners pretending to care about the land

Thank you for the introduction to Ethel Smyth’s work!
This performance captures the beauty, darkness, mystery, and serenity of The Forest that we as humans can merely attempt to translate into our native tongues. Y’all nailed it here. Sometimes music is worth 10,000 words
First listen right now and this piece truly rips. Such an emotionally evocative dynamic work. Great soundtrack for my Sunday morning
