The AJC to cut staff as it continues digital transformation The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Tuesday it will lay off staffers in the newsroom and other segments of the business.

BREAKING: @ajc.com on Tuesday evening said it will lay off approximately 50 staffers, about 15% of its headcount, as it seeks to cut costs and marshal resources to invest in its growth.

The AJC published its last print edition on 12/31. About half of those laid off will come from the newsroom.

This cannot be something a civilian law enforcement agent is allowed to wear in the US — and an agency that has a culture that tolerates this cannot be saved.

Put aside the toxic way politics reports frame everything in amoral electoral terms, so destroying democracy is only “bad” if it polls poorly.

This isn’t even right on the facts.

Miller’s policies are likely driving TONS of the 30-point swings we are seeing even in suburban TX.

I enjoy drawing connections between the 2020 George Floyd Uprisings, the proliferation of mutual aid groups in NYC in the following years (including the 15 groups fiscally hosted by Pact of which I'm the Board Chair), and then having a democratic socialist as our mayor 6 years later.

This is one of the most important cases that galvanized Black people in the late 40s through the 1950s. Almost every major Black leader had a comment about it. It is also one of the most successful defense committees that was organized in the 20th century. Almost no one knows about it today.

Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel?
