5. Keep building that shared identity & sense of solidarity, & make it accessible. Make it easy for all people, every day people, not just dialed-in activist-types to participate in this fight.

4. Be clear about what we demand. Say the things: end the invasion. Free detainees. Stop the militarized raids. Respect our free speech & due process rights.

3. Identify with protestors & immigrants as the larger “us.” WE are workers, students, parents, clergy, healthcare providers, caretakers, teachers, community leaders. Immigrants are an inherent part of that “we,” & WE are standing up for each other as WE are attacked & under siege by Trump’s agents.

2. Define Trump/ICE as the aggressors & invaders. Don’t let Trump sow this narrative that he brings peace. He incites violence. He *disrupts* peace. ICE does not come to protect, they come to provoke, & we are all safer without them in our neighborhoods terrorizing our community.

1. Keep everyday people, working families, the center of the story. Parents dropping kids off at school. Biz owners serving a customer. Worshipers at church. Ordinary people doing ordinary things in peaceful neighborhoods as federal agents in all military gear rampage through, tearing apart families

Trump is drawing from an old playbook—escalating dangerous theater to distract from a series of losses & regain support w his base. He wants (needs) to provoke reactions to justify military force, painting our cities as dirty, dangerous, & disorderly—& himself as savior. Here’s how we regain ground:

We should protect the Dreamers and young people who know no other home than America. When DACA is under attack, so are the dreams, hopes, and futures of DACA recipients and their families.

Congress must act—DACA must remain in place.
