I was skeptical at the time but with my grandmother in her 90s they took her for an overnight stay to βcheck it outβ and about 3 weeks later she said βI guess I live here now.β This was done on the advice of the social worker.

Republican Health Care Lingo Every Voter Should Know.
Do YOU know what your Republican Member of Congress means when they say things like "high-risk pools?"
It means they want to go back to when people with pre-existing conditions like cancer could be denied coverage.

βI think people are starting to see that we canβt fulfill our mission here.β

The effects @ NIH have to do w grant making and staffing. Publishing is mostly independent of the NIH. The NIH just hosts the articles. There is no reason to be more suspicious than usual about the studies hosted there though as always bad science does sometimes get published. Thatβs a longer convo.

U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items βpotentially divisive.β
βThe U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify the swastika β an emblem of fascism and white supremacy inextricably linked to the murder of millions of Jews and the deaths of more than 400,000 U.S. troops who died fighting in World War II β as a hate symbolβ

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that βwe need to rebuild trust in science,β because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.
