I voted today but it was the strangest experience… went to my normal place to vote and was told I now have to vote at another location. Cool. Went to that location and they “couldn’t find me”. I pulled up my voter registration online and then they asked for my drivers license….then further proof

So true. My advisor was sued by one of my coworkers the year after I left. She won but they paid out like 60k and nothing happened to him. Like someone else was saying here, we all have a mental list of who they are. I’ve been waiting two decades for this particular story to break.

I just heard from another Columbia classmate with a link to the Axel Epstein article saying “So unsurprising. We all knew.”

This hit me harder than I would have expected given I wasn’t directly affected by him (by others yes). There’s some kind of trauma associated with knowing the institution that held sway over my life protected someone so abhorrent. My classmate who rotated in his lab left the program.

Here to lend support. Like I said, I wondered how many other women noticed and resented this. I know Nancy and I weren’t the only ones who did.
