Frustrating that all these great freshmen but we are the ones dealing with this crap. I used to love CBB but I find myself having no joy watching. I mean it doesn’t help that the last two years have sucked. I have some hope for this year but it’d be nice if we had our generational talent.

This KU team is flat out not gonna be a great offensive team. To reach our ceiling, defense, rebounding and toughness have got to be the identity. We have the athletes to pressure the ball and get run outs. So far the attention to detail & consistency isn’t there. That’s gotta get better.

I’m a cynic so I feel this is agent camp/agent driven load management. I’m speculating but something is weird. It’s all frustrating. Hard to form chemistry when your generational talent isn’t playing

I’m just speculating but it feels like his camp is keeping him out of games they don’t deem as important. Disappointing because it’s hard to improve when the focal point doesn’t play. Just don’t get how this is only happening with KU and not other elite freshmen. Something isn’t adding up

The more #kufball finds ways to lose, the more irate I get that massive funds went into football, which, in turn, took away funds from bball. We could have had a guy like Darrion Williams or Keyshawn Hall had those funds not been allocated to football instead of basketball.

We are an unserious program. Lance is an unserious coach. When you coach scared, you deserve to lose.

14 point turnaround going into the half isn’t ideal. KU football just continually shoots itself in the foot with lack of execution and penalties.

We did look pretty young when Carolina went on their run. Lack of size hurts. Our identity has to be toughness and defense. Offense wasn’t bad tonight but offense won’t be consistent. Gotta grow into a good to great defensive team. We have the potential.

Yeah we went up 10 in the first half and up 8 at half. Second half our D was just bad. UNC got whatever they wanted. They bullied us in the second . They went up 16, we cut it to 6 but after that we just couldn’t get stops. It was frustrating because we played such great D in the first.

I think the thing I hate most about the other site are the KU burners after a loss. They are absolutely horrific with the most asinine takes. Completely blind from reality.

It does. Maybe shooting the 3 won’t be as bad as expected. Bottom line is we couldn’t get stops. For this team to reach our ceiling, defense has to be our identity. And I think Bill realizes that. Disappointed that we couldn’t keep it close but I know we’ll get better.

Rough rough second half but we also cannot overreact to game 2 on the road against a quality UNC team. Defense really struggled with communication and close outs. Lots to clean up and learn from. This team will grow. Just a work in progress.

Finding that secondary scorer to DP is gonna be vital. Peterson is incredible but he’s also just one guy. We need our role players to fill their roles. Tiller has the most potential to be that secondary scorer.

This is such a bummer. My brother and I were absolutely psyched to watch him play in person tonight. Damn.

Totally agree. Last year is where we really fucked up. We had legit continuity and talent. The Grimes hire was just such a horrible miss. This is where Lance has shortcomings. Hiring Grimes and DK McDonald this year are big misses. Damn.

I saw something that said going from 2 to 8 wins is easier than going from 8 to 10/11 wins. That’s so true. It’s hard going from good to great. We seem to have decent resources (I think) but it takes an elite in game coach to get there. Lance has proven in game coaching isn’t his strength.

It feels like he’s kind of reached his ceiling. Lifted us out of college football hell. Built the program to be respectable but idk if he can lift us higher. Idk if he should get fired unless there’s a sure fire replacement that can take what he’s done and elevate it.

The shitty part of KU football being mid isn’t that we are mediocre. KU football was never gonna be great. It’s that boosters invested so heavily in football that it took away NIL funds from bball. That led to KU being outbid on a guy like Darrion Williams.

For sure. I agree. That’s why I was saying at some point results matter and the results just haven’t been there. Sadly. I feel he doesn’t grasp the gravity of how important that rivalry is to alums and fans. Major missed opportunity.

Lance has completely changed the culture and expectations of KU football; however, at some point, he has to deliver results. Goff has provided him every resource he’s asked for. At the end of the day, results matter. #kufball

Lance has done great changing the culture and expectations. Thing with him is he gets stuck on little things and can’t let them go. Like the whole pocket knife thing is something he blew out of proportion. That had to have been a distraction.
