I Will Not Tone Down My Rhetoric Political Art and Commentary

Written and published over a year ago. People ask “what can we do?” Their strategy is to silence us all by demanding the firing of a few. They can’t fire everyone. They won’t fire everyone. It is is the obligation of those who can speak to do so.

Ceaselessly.

Hate speech is protected by the Constitution. Even if you hate it.

To everyone for the past 10 years who said “it isn’t really that bad” and “our institutions will protect us” and “our better natures will prevail”:

You were wrong then. You are wrong now. And here we are, perhaps past the point of no return for a long, long time.

Any candid assessment of the Supreme Court must now conclude that it doesn’t serve the Constitution, or the people, or justice. It exists solely to serve Donald Trump and to enable and embolden American Fascism.

They are legally binding.

I’ve taught Constitutional Criminal Procedure and will again. I’ll teach criminal law in the spring. I practiced criminal law for over 40 years. Not just to defend the accused but also the Constitution itself, for everyone.
