I was in a law firm with this guy. He didn’t seem like a bootlicking racist then. I mean, he was. He just didn’t seem like it. There was still at least the pretense of shame about it. Not anymore. They brag about it.

We worship them. Elevate them to a place of reverence. Assume they are smarter and work harder than everyone else. We elect them to offices they have no business being near. Their words are treasured as wisdom. They are protected by laws written by politicians beholden to their support.

For Justice Sotomayor, and for America. Get you a Supreme Court Justice who can stand almost alone for our democracy AND be name-checked by Bad Bunny at a concert. #SuperBowlSunday

But leadership is about message sending. Allowing them here, cooperating even, is already sending the wrong one

Today JCPS Law & Government and Pre-Law Magnet students came to the law school for a day as law students. This diverse, engaged, and brilliant group is ready to tackle and repair our world. Give them the space. Give them the opportunity. Give them time. The kids are alright.

As a lawyer often called upon to distinguish apparently identical situations and as a #BuffaloBills fan I can say without reservation that the “interception” on Saturday in Denver is completely and utterly indistinguishable from the “catch” in Chicago on Sunday.

They’re the same thing.

I know “blah blah blah we gotta‘ just appeal to these people to win the next election” and that’s why we don‘t have healthcare, transit, or funded education and the Fascists ultimately won. We’ve been doing the same thing for decades. Time to try harder.

2/ If history is taught at all to future generations, the Average American’s consent to the U.S. descent into this cesspool of hate, bigotry, and authoritarianism will be the model, not Germany. Because we knew about Germany. And didn’t care.

1/ Kentucky, through its elected leaders, and Louisville, via the same (Democrats included) are collaborating with our Fascist president’s foot soldiers. There’s no need to compare ICE with Nazi SS or Brownshirts.

I’m not supporting any Democratic candidate for President who doesn’t intend to charge, prosecute, and imprison if convicted the President and others complicit with him under the criminal law. We did “let’s just restore decency” already and it got us here. It’s not enough.

The Department of Justice investigated Louisville policing and in a 50-page report found systemic racism and abuses, without even mentioning the FOP. Now, the resulting consent decree has been abandoned by Pam Bondi’s DOJ. The investigation and report buried, like Breonna herself.
