2. When Iran attacked UK bases and other allies, he authorised strikes against the specific missile sites concerned.

And on social media, he gets attacked from the other 'side' for doing the precise opposite!

So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:

- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.

Trump's comments about the UK go to show why you should NEVER try to pander to him. He is a narcissistic psychopath who will expect more and more each time you placate him.

How cringe giving him that fake 2nd state tour looks now. As we all said it would.

Mr. Starmer isn't pandering to Trump. He is putting the UK and its citizens first in dealing with a host of issues that could have dreadful outcomes. I'd rather his quiet and considered approach than Trump's Reality TV performance style, uneducated and embarassing .

There is no "special relationship" - that's been a fallacy for years. USA was always an ally. That is now also a fallacy.

But that second state visit was SO faux it was taking the piss and he was too crass to notice or care.

We do not have Shia law in the UK. Rather the rule of law that goes back to the Magna Carta. The same basis of law that investigates Andrew MB and Lord Mandelson. The same law that would investigate Donald Trump if he was a British Citizen.

Trump wants the UK and Europe on their knees. That’s the only “relationship” with them that he’s interested in.
