Back side of the crazy lacy agate
Mossy red large seam agate
A handful of smaller agates
Some of yesterdayβs finds. I canβt wait to cut that crazy lacy one! Now trying to limit myself to those I can easily pick up with one hand. So. Hard.

I am looking at those so glad to know that you are happy with it. What extra discs did you end up liking for agates? I have a lot of agates to work on.

This inspires me! I will be visiting a beach in Mexico tomorrow and I discovered some calcite crystal filled fossil shells last time I was there. This time I am more prepared!

I do love me some blue rocks. That is gorgeous. I donβt know what it is about blue when it comes to rocks but I am there for it.

Wow, that is super cool. they almost look like polyps or something like that. Maybe an organism that set up in a softer material that was then replaced with silica? That's a beauty.

I do think calcite is involved but wonder how it was formed.

Layer rock in creams with layer of peach colored material and green mineral deposits. Fresh break on the top of this rock. weathering shown on the front face.
layered rocks in cream and white showing host rock it formed on top of and also the risks of using a rock hammer without gloves in that damaged fingernail.
Layered stone in situ showing grey from weathering.
facts: soft. most layers scratched with old copper nail, those that didn't scratched with steel. Translucent. Reacts to household vinegar. Calcium based? Possibly not all layers react, hard to tell. Under UV flashlight (the cheap kind), rocks glow orange, green, purple. Baja California Sur.

White and cream layered rocks in situ on the side of the hill. Found in a limited area.
rock in layers of cream and white with bubbles of perhaps caclite on top. These were sandwiched between layers of stone.
green mineral maybe? that's a fresh break.
translucent rocks that looks like bubbles, not boitroydial crystals.
What's this? Facts: found in limited area in erosion side of hill in area of ancient volcanoes. Rocks break along layers. Made from ancient thermal springs maybe? More facts in comments. #geology #volcanics #rockhounding

Well, I did crabapple butter a couple of times. It was, um, labor intensive. But delicious. Especially the one spiced with jalapeΓ±o. I like to play with my food.

Living on a boat, I miss our local crows. We did have a Cowbird come to visit between Mexico and Hawaii, out of nowhere. She came inside and sailed w/ us for days, eating granola, drinking water, hopping around in the cabin. I was unaccountably sad when one evening she flew off under a full moon.
