Don't Buy Starbucks! At any location, today and beyond, while workers are on ULP strike!

Don't Buy Starbucks! At any location, today and beyond, while workers are on ULP strike!

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I'm a Starbucks barista. I'm striking because I want 'the best job in retail.' Baristas want Starbucks to succeed. We take pride in the green aprons and in our customers who return each morning.

"Employees are striking because we want Starbucks to live up to the values it markets to the world. Starbucks claims it offers the β€œbest job in retail.” As someone doing one of those jobs day in and day out, I can tell you that's not true."

Hit 'em where it hurts! Baristas calling out management for failure to negotiate. No contract? No coffee!

STARBUCKS IS BREWING A LATTE PROBLEMS by refusing to settle a union contract. Starbucks is in hot water. The coffee giant is stonewalling a contract with 12,000+ union baristas. For less money than CEO Brian Niccol paid himself last year, Starbucks can sign a fair union contract TODAY. This Labor Day, tell Starbucks: NO CONTRACT, NO COFFEE! bit.ly/NoContractNoCoffee

Labor Day isn’t just a long weekend, it's a movement.

We’re fighting for healthcare, living wages, housing, immigrant justice & dignity for ALL.

This #LaborDay, we put Families First, Not Billionaires.

Wages of unionized workers are 13% higher than their nonunion counterparts.

But unions also set a higher pay standard that all workers enjoy.

In high-union-density states, median household income is $12,000 higher than in low-union-density states.

This is why unions are vital.

While many of the largest unions, including the teachers unions and service workers unions, have grown by organizing new workers and becoming politically powerful, many others have long resisted major organizing efforts, preferring to focus on protecting current members.

While many of the largest unions, including the teachers unions and service workers unions, have grown by organizing new workers and becoming politically powerful, many others have long resisted major organizing efforts, preferring to focus on protecting current members.

Terrible framing below. My re-write: "While some unions have long resisted major organizing efforts," ... "many of the largest unions, including the teachers unions and service workers unions, have grown by organizing new workers and becoming politically powerful." Easy, no? 4/

Loomis claims "we have barely heard a peep from unions" since Trump's attempt to strip Federal workers of their bargaining rights. But he fails to mention the ongoing fight in the courts to restore those rights. It ain't torches & pitchforks, but it ain't nothing neither. 3/

01.09.2025 11:54 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Let's start with the title. Where does Loomis get off saying unions are so quiet? It's clear he wishes we could have national strikes, as they do in Europe and elsewhere. He sighs repeatedly over unions' supposed passivity. It is clear he does not get out much. 2/

Opinion | Trump Is Wiping Out Unions. Why Are They So Quiet?

The NYT does it again. An opinion piece about labor rife with bad framings, wrong conclusions, and misplaced longing for a kind of labor movement that has never existed in the US. Here's a gift link. My rant follows. 1/
