Haven't done any other days of the #noirvemberchallenge but have to pipe up for this one.
Sticking to actors - Humphrey Bogart, Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews and Gloria Grahame

I love the basic premise of a cop investigating himself. Always feel there is a classic of that type waiting to be made

Haha! Fair enough. I will continue to avoid it then!

Spot on! Bogart is superb in this.
And surely no one saw that coming in The Naked Kiss!

Doctor Sleep so much better than anyone expected for such a late sequel

Two great noirs that kept me guessing as to where they would go next #noirvember
Doc about my sporting hero growing up. Too much to cover in one film I think
Late era masterpiece by Wim Wenders. Wonderful performance by Koji Yakusho

Even at 2 stars it seems like The Exorcist 2 isn't as bad as they say it is!

Will do. Thanks for the tip!

I was just reading about Lured this week. Would you recommend?

Don't know that Bette Davis film. She's just got so many to catch up on!

Ah, I see. Explains why I hadn't heard of them thanks!

I had no idea there was a Japanese series of Mickey Spillane adaptations. This sounds great! Would you recommend?

11.11.2025 10:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Thank you. I have never heard of this despite being a fan of both creators. Must have been that couple of years when I dipped out of comics. I will investigate!

Definitely watch it. It's certainly not for everyone but it is for some people!

I'm sure you'll get some quizzical looks for that review of Near Dark. It's beloved but I am closer to your opinion I think. Overrated!

Never too late for Denzel to go back to Easy!

What a week!

So tense for the Rebecca Ferguson section. Then once I realised we were seeing another POV I was still involved but by the time we are in the third section it just couldn't maintain the tension

I'm the same these days. I can only contribute to lastfourwatched every couple of weeks!

I would have rated House Of Dynamite as 5 stars about half way through but not by the end. Did you feel the same?

Glad to see a good review for the new Lanthimos. ๐Ÿ˜Š

First-rate drama I missed at the time - thanks @screendrafts.bsky.social for the tip!
Oscar bait but really good. From a different era though
Proper scares
Edge of the seat tension for 45 mins. Ended with the least interesting POV unfortunately

07.11.2025 13:29 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 18    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Great start to Noirvember with number 1. Love it!

07.11.2025 11:33 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Phenomenal film.
And if you saw there was a TV series remake with gender-swapped main characters and immediately wrote it off then I urge you to think again - that is also phenomenal!

Got to shout out this often overlooked classic

I always say it - so much better than it has any right to be!

A wonderful film. After seeing a few Godard films I thought the Nouvelle Vague wasn't for me but this showed me how wrong I was. Magnificent!
