Heck, in the early 1960’s, during the Cold War, my next door neighbors had a whole secret apartment in their house, behind a false wall & everything. Not sure who they thought was after them, but they were ready. People had bomb shelters & stuff back then. But mostly the dad was just loopy, I think.
