Republicans are still trying to pass the SAVE Actβ€”a bill that would make it harder to vote and disenfranchise millions of Americans. Join @redistrictingaction.org and tell your member of Congress to vote no: act.redistrictingaction.org/a/natl-saveact-cte

Rhode Islanders got gridlock. Peter Alviti patted himself on the back. - The Boston Globe Rhode Island's embattled transportation director isn’t going quietly.

Dan McGowan column: "Can someone please tell Peter Alviti that public servants don’t get to write their own legacy press releases – especially after a failure this big? Accountability should outrank autobiography."

I am enormously proud and deeply grateful for the hard work of this commission.
A public medical school @universityofri.bsky.social will help cultivate our primary care workforce and offer an affordable and equitable medical education.

This Jan. 6 plaque was made to honor law enforcement. It's nowhere to be found at the Capitol Its whereabouts aren't publicly known, though it's believed to be in storage.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.

CBS Pulled a β€œ60 Minutes” Story Because the White House Refused to Comment β€” That’s a Veto on Journalism Pulling a finished investigation because the administration refused to comment isn’t journalism. It’s submission.

If refusing to comment is enough to kill a story, then the government now has veto power over journalism.
That’s what CBS normalized last night β€” and it should scare everyone.

Were there moments that you missed? Anything that happened that’s on the cutting room floor?
I don’t think there’s anything I missed that I wish I’d gotten. I’ll give you a little anecdote: Stephen Miller was perhaps the most concerned about the portrait session. He asked me, β€œShould I smile or not smile?” and I said, β€œHow would you want to be portrayed?” We agreed that we would do a bit of both. And then when we were finished, he comes up to me to shake my hand and say goodbye. And he says to me, β€œYou know, you have a lot of power in the discretion you use to be kind to people.” And I looked at him and I said, β€œYou know, you do, too.”

I am sick about the gun violence at Brown and praying for the entire community.
Traveling with a Brown student right now and watching the messages being relayed in real time is devastating .

More people will likely go without health insurance, risking their health and potentially overwhelming our already struggling hospitals with uncompensated care.
But bright side, the budget just got easier πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
