Watching the discussion on Deepseek from open-source tech people -- as an academic in medicine is depressing. Hope for an open future for AGI. Once, Banting gave away insulin for humanity. Salk refused to patent the polio vaccine. What do we live in?

Exome sequencing identifies breast cancer susceptibility genes and defines the contribution of codin... Meta-analysis of three large whole-exome sequencing datasets highlights protein-truncating and rare missense variants associated with breast cancer susceptibility.

Large exome analysis finds a few additional cancer predisposition genes for breast cancer. However, Rare germline variants expected to in total only account for ~ 11% of familial risk for breast cancer.
