Uit onderzoek blijkt vooral de schonere lucht tot minder mist te leiden. Circa 60 jaar geleden was de lucht een stuk minder schoon en hadden we vaker en dichtere mist. Klimaatverandering heeft ongetwijfeld veel impact, maar bij mist is er meer aan de hand.

A weather station in Storforshei, Norway, on the edge of the Arctic Circle, has now hit 30°C (86°F) or greater for 12 consecutive days.

Ook in Nederland steeg de concentratie fijnstof, roet en koolmonoxide. De stoffen waren tijdens de tocht naar Nederland wel aanzienlijk verdunt, maar desalniettemin is het bijzonder om de rook in de metingen terug te zien.

De rook van Canadese bosbranden bleef lang in hogere luchtlagen, maar de afgelopen 24 uur daalde de rook ook tot op leefniveau. In de Alpen stegen de concentraties fijnstof duidelijk.

Not personally, but there have been a handful of observations. At that time, it had become cloudy in most places, except along the German border and in the southeast. That explains the few observations.
