The ABC's head of HR, Deena Amorelli, has sent out an all-staff email confirming the ABC's widely-rumoured bargaining offer as Aunty begins negotiations on a new EBA. They've offered a 3% pay increase contingent on workers agreeing not to take industrial action for 12 months.

If it eventuated, it would make RCB the 38-year-old’s third IPL franchise, having spent time at Delhi and Hyderabad. It would have also marked the first time Warner joined forces with India superstar Virat Kohli.

RCB’s director of cricket, Mohammad Bobat, told me the franchise never asked Warner, adding he was “not sure why we’d change a winning team for the final”.

According to Warner’s management, visas and travel (which the offer was always contingent on) was the most difficult hurdle, with Warner already locked for Major League Cricket commitments with Seattle and flying off on Wednesday. The thing is, RCB say this all never happened.

They’ve not been sued yet - they’ve been given (and responded to) a concerns notice, which is also the first step in suing for defamation. A concerns notice essentially is designed for a publisher to be able to make amends, but is also the first step required to initiate defamation proceedings.

It’s a news piece Miriam but of particular importance to note - our report only states the article with Demetriadi’s byline carried the headline with the phrase “vile Jewish threats”, not necessarily that Demetriadi made that allegation.
