Definitely don’t pull a “Sammy”
Wishing luck to someone about to go “on stage” is considered bad luck, so instead “break a leg” or “knock ‘em dead” are common.

NZ has normalised inequality. As the cost of living rises, Govt has to expand into every corner of life so people don't starve and end up homeless.
We need to reduce inequality and rampant rentierism so that people and communities have the resources they need to look after themselves.
How does this basic mathematical reality escape so many voters.
14.02.2026 07:57 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The thing about acting locally is, it MUST happen. Do policy sceptics think that national action, international action, won’t also HAVE to include local action? Regional, national, international politicians might not be the ones to start it. So we all must start it. Now.

35cm of snow forecast above 2300m on Mt Ruapehu tomorrow — 15 Feb. Summer. Someone died today in floods in Otorohanga.
How long before everyday people start putting the pieces together and understanding that We. Must. Act. Now.
And vote for governments who will act NOW. We can’t wait any longer.
Same. I also hate the false equivalence of terrible ideas and good ideas, as if all ideas have equal merit, being used to justify canning good ideas — tit for tat.
The ferries, vs the LNG plant would be a good corollary. One absolutely required, one objectively batshit.
I’ll never not be thoroughly shamed by the All Blacks wearing that logo.

Cruella van Velden fucks with worker’s rights still more.
Remember always, if you’re a worker she hates your guts.
I’d be surprised if they weren’t focused on the massive (and in my opinion horrendous overreaction) OCR hikes that wiped out the foundations of our economy for this current useless lot to then go in for the kill.

11.02.2026 05:47 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0They’re clearly undermining the Reserve Bank’s credibility for the forecast interest rate increases leading up to the election.
11.02.2026 05:40 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The Reserve Bank declared they would increase unemployment and successfully did so — it hasn’t yet recovered. Shouldn’t a Friedmanesque review be glowing?
11.02.2026 05:38 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Well they didn’t respond with any fiscal policy to balance out those measures.
