She will have to live with the consequences of her choices and her actions. I am working the chains, and will take time to fully break loose.
But she is the last. and I will finally be free.

I am walking away, I need my peace, I need my calm. I have done what I can. these breaks are hard. I have a lifetime of being the fixer, the steady one, the peacemaker etc. this hurts but it is necessary for my own health.

She claimed that the hospital was stealing her belongings, and demanded that everything get turned over to me...
I spoke to the nurse outside of the room. Her items stay at the hospital, this is not my fault or my responsibility. I apologized to the nursing staff.

She is on suicide watch, and she quickly moved between rage, tears, paranoia, and entitlement. Not listening to the nurses, spinning her own reality based in self pity and grievance. Screaming and demanding a medication that she does not remember the name of.

She was lucid enough to tell me where to find her hearing aid. Next to the bed in the charging box.
When I got back the nurse immediately grabbed the USB charging cable, "She can't have this" the tumblers snapped into place. She had OD'd on something.

I was disappointed but not surprised to find two security personnel and 3 nurses in her room. She was having a full on mental breakdown. I was handed her keys, by one of the nurses with instructions not to hand them to my sister.

She made that request yesterday. "Hey Mikos, I am in the hospital and I need my hearing aid, can you get it for me?" the request fit the parameters and boundaries I have put in place.

The entire drive to the hospital I was hoping that my sister was behaving herself.

During Covid, after giving my sister shelter and help, in return she tried to burn everything down I made a deal. I will only respond to requests that are clear, open and made without emotional manipulation.

I was the last one standing, the last one struggling to maintain any connection to a person that thrives on chaos and manipulation. Her daughters have cut all contact with them and their children.
