I’m in the home stretch of finishing work for my upcoming show CACOPHONY opening October 17th here in Portland, OR at the Purple Door Gallery. One part of the show will be a wall mounted plate installation consisting of almost 50 handpainted ceramic plates. Here are a couple that will be included.

I’ve lived all over the US and the community I have found here is beautiful and does not deserve to be used by fascists as some sort of example or excuse for starting wider violence. I hate every single thing about this moment in history, it’s just breaking me.

I hate going online and seeing people convinced that Portland is some sort of crime addled hell hole, it is just willfully belligerently wrong. The community I have found here, among artists and creative people has been profound to me.

What a whirlwind: spent my whole day lustering ceramics yesterday, woke up unloaded a glaze kiln, then I did an event all day, came home and loaded the gold luster kiln. Plan on lustering all day tomorrow. When my kiln is cooled I’ll load another glaze kiln. Less than 2 weeks until my solo show🫩
