The fact that all yummy things that are relaxing to ingest are bad for us is the reason I’m agnostic rather than an atheist. Surely, only a vengeful god would have made this the way things had to be.

That one always cracks me up.

Even though so many plates found homes in my last show, I still have a really nice selection left over. Working on a way to display them at my holiday events, but in the meantime, if one strikes your fancy just reach out to me.

I’m so excited to be vending this weekend at @letswhileonearth as part of the Kerns Holiday Market in Portland, Oregon! This beautiful space will be filled with local makers and all the amazing business in the area. I’ll be bringing brand new ceramics and calendars and handmade comics.

I think my current art aesthetic could be described as kind of ugly, kind of cute, kind of stressed out…you know, a self portrait of sorts.

I mean, the number of businesses I enjoy supporting that I’ve unsubscribed to recently is wild. Really, who is telling these businesses to do this?

The number of newsletters businesses are sending is just getting out of hand. What marketing genius thinks I want multiple emails from the same business every week? It sucks because it makes me feel like I can’t send my monthly newsletter because I know the glut of obnoxious marketing being sent out

While I’m on the subject of artist photos, it’s so cool how women artists still have to be pretty to get press. Love that for us. Too many thirst trap photos of women next to their work. Can we just make cool art without also having to be objects ourselves?

One of my big art world pet peeves is promoting artist events with a photo of the artist rather than a photo of their work. I don’t care what an artist looks like, I want to know what their art looks like.

I have made this recipe since they first published it and it is absolute perfection (even when you substitute gluten free sour dough {yes,I have celiac}).

And, I’m not directing these questions at you specifically, it’s more rhetorical. Portland is a lot easier but it is still a very hostile to people with autoimmune based food issues. The fact of the matter, is sometimes I have to eat outside of my house and I shouldn’t be punished for it.

I get that but also, it’s not for random people to decide if health issues or disabilities are “real”. I think people need to start trusting people when they say they have issues. Yes, I have documentation showing I have celiac but should I have to show it every time I need to eat in public?
