The MG ZS EV was the first great value mainstream electric car to hit the UK. I took its successor, the MGS5 EV, for a spin to find out if it could continue the tradition.

I hope so too. I've followed the Neue Klasse development for years now and my expectations are high. If it's good, with that range, and a not too hideous price (for a Beamer) it could be a real gamechanger.

21.02.2026 16:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Are we still talking about the Caterham or the iX3? I'm driving the latter a week on Monday. Not sure when I'll get to drive the former. Hopefully soon! I'm not a track god, though, so not an expert on sports handling. Just done quite a few track days.
21.02.2026 16:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Love the idea and spec. Would have to drive to be sure.
21.02.2026 16:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think unfortunately CFD and the need for efficiency has led car shapes toward a common solution to the problem.
21.02.2026 16:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'd rather have an i3 Touring but there ain't one. Never actually owned an SUV yet but it's increasingly hard not to if you need boot space.
21.02.2026 16:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I would happily own the new BMW iX3. Well, let me absolutely confirm that in 9 days when I've had a chance to drive one.
21.02.2026 16:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0All Chinese companies have some CCP connection but some a lot more than others. Geely isn't very CCP. XPENG not much either.
21.02.2026 16:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Teslas are made in China... and from what I gathered when the UK started getting imports from China rather than the US, better made in China!
21.02.2026 15:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Tesla? Have we talked about this before?
21.02.2026 15:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Some of the Chinese do...

21.02.2026 15:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The e-C5 is not that big. Citroenβs e-C3 is great - hence the decent sales.
21.02.2026 14:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They just seemed to be getting back on track. The Citroen e-C5 Aircross is quite good too.
21.02.2026 14:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Love this. Hilarious!

Stellantis appears to be combatting its sluggish electric sales with a reemphasis on diesel models, just when it looks like 2026 could be the European EV tipping point.

08.02.2026 19:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's a bit vague. Which industry has a "traditional negative effect"? The auto industry in general, with its reliance on combustion, has had a huge impact on the environment, and ongoing. Or was that not what you meant?
