The question isn’t why they protest 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺 — 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼.

So, maybe, instead of condemning the manner the protest was held, focus on actually addressing their concerns so that next time there won't have to be any protest in the first place.

The picture on the left is from 1986, when Filipinos stormed Malacañang Palace. The picture on the right is from today, September 2025, when Filipinos stormed St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor and Development Corporation.

History repeats itself when the conditions that created it never changed.

Ipinakulong si Ninoy sa Fort Bonifacio dahil kalaban siya ni Marcos Sr. Ipinakulong naman ng mga Pilipino si Duterte sa The Hague upang managot siya sa libo-libong buhay na kinitil niya.

Matapang na lumaban si Ninoy para sa karapatan at kalayaan, samantalang ilang beses niyurakan ni Digong ang karapatan ng mamamayan. Isa ay pinaslang dahil sa paninindigan para sa demokrasya; ang isa, pinaslang ang demokrasya mismo.

Samantala, walang banta sa buhay ni Duterte at gusto lang nilang pauwiin si Digong para baluktutin ang katotohanan at makatakas sa pananagutan.

Pinaslang si Ninoy. Si Duterte ang pumaslang ng higit 27,000 Pilipino.

Kaya bayani si Ninoy Aquino, at hindi kailanman magiging Ninoy Aquino si Rodrigo Duterte.

Umuwi si Ninoy—kahit sa harap ng banta na patayin siya—para ipaglaban ang kalayaan.

Hindi naging bayani si Ninoy dahil pinaslang siya; pinaslang siya dahil isa siyang bayani. Isa siya sa mga lumaban para sa kalayaan, demokrasya, hustisya, at dangal ng bayan. Laban na sumingil sa sarili niyang buhay.

Just over a little year before, on September 20, 1985, the Escalante Massacre claimed the lives of 20 protesters demanding justice under Marcos’ dictatorship.
