Shocked to learn that the screaming man waving a chainsaw who promised to smash the very government he wanted to be President over is having an economic crisis & that the orange coloured man who shut down the government he presides over is bailing him out.
Shocked.

For those playing along The USA is now at the Horst Wessel stage of rising fascism:
Autocratic regime is behind in polls
Institutions caving to financial threats
Idolatry of grifters
โUsโ and โthemโ shifts to regime loyalists vs pro-democracy
Corporations start to suffer despite pledges of loyalty

"One fact we can all be sure of, however, is that whether the suspect was a groyper, a groupie, left, right, or a self-conceived banana person, a murder was committed because - in America - a kid disturbed enough to *fucking kill someone* faced no restrictions to obtaining a gun." Van Badham
Van Badham:
Australians, stick it on your fridge, give thanks every day.
This is why Australia will never have a Trump. While there is a trace of infectious MAGA-style extremism, as there is everywhere, it can never dominate. (Add in a strong union movement and The Labor Party). #democracyvaccine
Facebook post text - I received an honest question from an American reader: "Why do (Australians) care about the domestic politics of the USA?"; this is my answer: "We care because 521 of our sons died in Vietnam, following the US to war as your loyal ally - just as we followed in Korea, Afghanistan, and Iraq (twice). "We care because the US has military bases on our soil that are nuclear targets. "We care because our retirement funds are heavily invested in American companies. "We care because America has set the terms of international trade that we, as a smaller power, have been obliged to heed. "We care because the United States communicates in English, and we mostly consume our news in English, and engage social media platforms in English, and watch movies and TV and read books in English, and get exposed to English-language propaganda. "We care because Americans built the internet as an expression of American values - and to be capable of retaining our own cultural sovereignty, it is crucial for us to interrogate those values... and consider where they may lead."
To Americans wondering why Australians and other Anglophone nations feel the need to comment on your domestic politics @vanbadham.bsky.social had a nice succinct post that covers it.
