After months of troubleshooting, my pc has been rebuilt (with a pretty more Moon friendly sized case in lilac) and it appears to have solved the issues so I can play book review catch up (I've been reading a lot of fun reads) and maybe try streaming again!

I'm just frustrated and tired of the same "well just keep trying" or "do negatives" or the whole do bridges and do hollow body leg and deadbugs. I've done them all, and it stull doesn't work.
I just want someone to genuinely help me understand what's going on so I can do the thing.

I can invert in some way, but as soon as it's a straddle, it's just not happening. I can't even do negatives because I can't keep myself in an inverted straddle position without some support (I can stay inverted in a pike, and a pencil and even scorpion).

There's skills in aerial I struggle with. Straddle inverts in particular because no matter how much I try, I just can't get it. And I am so so tired that the answer from coaches is "oh just keep practicing".
I've been for 7 years, and it still doesn't happen.

It is so important to keep hammering in this point. People always ask me why I would have to go visit archives - why not just look at a scan? Because they haven’t been scanned! And they are never going to be! There are millions & millions of pieces of paper in every archive.

every single librarian on this site whether they work primarily with academics or the public or practitioners has had to patiently explain — while their expertise is questioned — that hardly anything is digitized, actually.

Yes please, they're very portable and take less space which means more books. The paper doesn't smell like vomit nor is it blindingly bright white. They're perfect

Nice moment at work where I reach out to the two experts about something and start it with "sorry but I'm baffled about". And their response is "as soon as you said baffled we knew this would be one of the most challenging things ever" (they are as baffled as me by a choice from another team).

there's so much disrespect of romance writers and romance readers baked into the idea that AI-driven production of novels is 'better'. as if writing romance isn't skillful, hard and joyous work. as if romance readers aren't discerning, loyal and savvy.

Or people watching out for the guy snoring and his stop, and all of us near him knowing roughly that he'd get off after so and so but before x.

Or people offering to share fries/crisps. I even had someone offer a charger for a day my phone went dead and then we chatted about video games while my phone got enough charge

Other fun ones have been a salesman celebrating a big win and sharing beers to the whole train carriage and just being super full of whimsy. We all found it very amusing and made us smile (he wasn't obnoxious).

I love Friday night trek to London and back home. Tonight I had people offer their seat to me and my friend (people were just so nice in the underground).
And then someone shared a bag of mini eggs on the train because why not.
