But churches were more interested in praying and wishing God would intervene without actually helping at all (not even a sandwich or a coffee or tea). Even though I had been a member and given time and money to them. All I got was prayers.
18.11.2025 23:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You know who helped me? The poorest members of the church (without help from the church) who could barely feed themselves offered me a couch and to share their meals. Non Christian friends. Black and minorities focused charities (I still donate to them whenever I can).
18.11.2025 23:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0When I ended up homeless (due to DV), my best friend insisted we ask church to help us. We went to SO many churches including the ones we were members of. They would all "pray" for me. None actually helped.

I refuse to submit myself to a system that says that productivity determines worth. Fuck that.
You exist, and you are a TREASURE. Nothing is required of you.
"architect or gardener" methods of work are overrated, I make dry stone walls where I've collected weird ideas for decades and when I wanna draw something I can just stack them where the weird edges naturally fit together.

03.11.2025 18:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0At this point, things that weren't "AI" have been rebranded to be AI, doesn't mean they're more than algorithms or generative LLMs. It's marketing and hype and trying to make it seem fancier.

28.10.2025 19:44 โ ๐ 20 ๐ 12 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The thing about the relentless march of time is that you only get an ending (happy or otherwise) in fiction. Here in the real world no cause is ever lost forever even though we may not live to see it prevail. This is both hope and cautionary tale.
27.10.2025 18:16 โ ๐ 620 ๐ 169 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 2I think about this advice a lot: start your project now, today, even if it'll take you 10 years to do, because the time is going to pass anyway. Time is going to march on! Might as well have something in progress!

24.10.2025 13:05 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0When developers get the lion's share of a video game's profits and not executives and shareholders, then we can talk about raising the price of games.
But miss me with this $100 shit when we have leeches like Phil Spencer and Andrew Wilson constantly laying off devs for a quarterly boost.
It's been a very busy overwhelming time recently at work, but I found out that people put in their yearly surveys that I am one of the reasons they stay here, and it touched me that I have impact in their lives and make work a better place.
