A distant selfie of me standing in nearly waist deep water of the middle of the Rio Grande River, with massive canyon walls on either side and clear blue sky overhead. This is Santa Elana Canyon, where the proposed border wall would begin. That would be a travesty. Besides, these canyon walls are their own, natural border wall.

I've been to all 254 TX counties, and Big Bend is the very best of Texas. The stunning, expansive desert landscape still feels untouched. It deserves to stay that way. It breaks my heart thinking about it being needlessly ruined for a f***ing wall. Here's some photos I've taken there. 🧡4/4

I’m so sad. I hate this part of having pets.

Don't know if ppl outside NOLA know this, but we have lots of great Vietnamese here and VietCajun fusion, especially if you go out to New Orleans East.

Industry after industry falling for the same trick where they think the 10-20% of their most psychotic clients instead represent a broad norm

I've been thinking about how this has already played out in games - there was a massive push to convince the industry and world that there was this huge audience of angry reactionary gamers who weren't getting what they demanded. And it turned out there weren't that many and they don't buy games

They want to make bad TV for used car dealership owners and shut-ins and it's just not that many people

Aw, the vet sent flowers, and now I'm laughing bc unlike when my other two cats died, I can actually put the flowers out since Teegs isn't here to eat them

yesterday Conde's biggest cover story of 2025 (I think it's safe to say) got nominated for an ASME: a cover story about a trans woman, produced by a team that i helped guide as a trans person. and in the 11 months since it came out, they got rid of almost all of us

Please pay attention.

This is a horrible situation and it's going to do tremendous damage.

Any fighting back, any help you can give, NOW IS THE FUCKING TIME TO DO IT.

yeah, he had a health crisis over the weekend, and when we thought he'd pulled through it, he started declining. Turned out the trauma put him into heart failure. I am gutted. Thank you.

Although she is one of the few cats I've had who I think would be perfectly fine with an adult cat. I've literally seen her hiss once in my life and that was at the vet when she had an ear infection.

Ideally I'd like a teen kitten, one of the ones who's juuust aged out of the cute phase and is therefore less adoptable, but also young enough we hopefully can have a few years off from traumatic health issues.

She's 8 but super active and social. She grew up in a foster with a bazillion other cats, I can't let her be an only for very long.

My uncle rented a house on the beach in Florida, so I'm going there tomorrow morning to decompress for a couple days. When I come back, we will choose a pal for Amelia and officially launch our second cat generation.

I also kind of lost it last night when I saw a picture of him with Jolee and Starbuck. It truly is the end of my first cat group, and I was like, oh great now I'm crying about all three of them.

27.02.2026 17:52 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I hate to lose a cat at not quite 11, even though with Teegs we always joked that if we could get him to 10 it would be a miracle. Well, we did. And I still wish we could've had more of him.

27.02.2026 17:51 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I thought about it last night & this is hitting me especially hard bc the last cat I lost was Jolee Bindo, who was of mysterious Hurricane Katrina origins but definitely 17-20 years old when he died.

Which also explains why writers hate it so much... its writing is generic at best, I would say below the level of traditionally publishable. Plus often "cringe" as the kids say. But a lot of people don't realize.

You know what, it will make me feel better to hear his ridiculous song. I know, why would we ever miss this at 1 am? πŸ˜‚

He was SUCH a lively, fun, snuggly cat, it's hard to believe he's gone so quickly. Also had a lot of guilt yesterday, but I'm trying to get past it.
