Do cross-development on your PC. Use the FujiNet to load the result over the network.
Even on a #Commodore #Vic20.

Am hoping my teeny little contribution will be to use our old computers, on the Internet, on our terms.
But. *shrug*
Imagine something like Picotron running on a RISC-V or ARM notebook.

Not that I'm anyone, but, it breaks my heart to see the Linux community, with whom I have spent my time and energy for decades, unable to stop fighting with each other, and for the veracity of that fighting to continually increase, while corporate interests just gobble it up.

29.07.2025 15:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Not only does offloading the protocol adapter to a much more powerful computer allow for these machines to access TLS/SSL APIs directly, and do things like parse very large chunks of data from these APIs, it also makes it much easier to program clients, and not have to run a proxy on somebody system
29.07.2025 15:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0To allow direct access to modern service APIs, for example.

Right now, I just wish it would stop raining all the time. It has to stop.
For example, protocol adapters that could handle the processing of SSL and TLS socket layers, or the ability to process JSON and XML documents on device, for systems with constrained resources such as memory.

(p.s. if FujiNet doesn't exist for your favorite system yet, hardware donation is one way you can help.)

27.07.2025 03:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0On systems w existing super-periphs, #FujiNet becomes a reference design to add useful net features. We want projs like BlueSCSI and BackBit, etc. to add FujiNet features. We don't ask for licensing; we want 2 foster a useful and ubiquitous way to network #retrogaming and #retrocomputing systems.

Tons of users, and "testers."
Damned near zero "people who want to get things made for these users and testers."
If this community is to survive, that has to change. And it starts with _you_.
FujiNet Intellivision status: My Intellivision is dead. Turned on and off too many times during bring-up. Something has gone boom.
If someone has a well tested unit they can sell me so I can continue, that would be helpful, otherwise INTV bring-up is paused.
sigh.
