it really sucks to hear about what happened with machi and 428...media that's critically acclaimed but does poorly sales-wise is always hard to hear about, especially when the people behind the project were really passionate with what they were putting out and still want to make more (but now can't)

leaf being paired up with key (basically as a collective fandom) is especially interesting cause as for me growing up in the west, key was totally it's own thing and i don't remember ever hearing of leaf 🤔 even though to heart has it's own anime too i've never seen it pop up compared to clannad etc.

i always hear such nice things about white album 2 it's amazing to learn it was written by fan of the first game basically by chance (and that the first game basically didn't do too well)
but it even 2 didn't do the best despite it's pretty high praise now & is kind of leaf's last game now...dang...
