My husband is neurodivergent and so are both of our kids. I think I may have taken Tylenol once or twice per kid while pregnant. The kids themselves only took it with a very rare fever, they were healthy tykes. If we’re speaking anecdotally, our type of autism is clearly genetic #FuckJunkScience

My office is in the basement and with our elder kid having moved back in it’s messing with my compulsion to intuit where everyone is in the rest of the house. I can’t tell which kid is walking around. But now that they started emptying the dishwasher I know for sure it’s the younger kid.

(26) back home after being on their own for 5+ years due to a very sad breakup. They’re taking this opportunity to go back for a masters but feelings are so mixed. Everyone’s life is going to change dramatically. It’s going to take lots of love and patience. ❤️

People like to compare our current administration to 1940s Germany & I get that. But it feels like so much of the population is 100% aware & complicit today, cheering on the fascism. Did average Germans know the depth of the depravity going on during WWII? What’s a good website with accurate info?

It’s amazing how my creative willpower kicks into gear when I find a project someone already did that I can copy. 😳

I’m not having a pity party for a change. But I’m realizing that sometimes even the people you think care about you most aren’t really interested in putting down their own shit for a minute to listen to the struggles you have carrying yours. But I do it for them all the time.

Today I made about a dozen trips up & down stairs carrying furniture & boxes, walked about six blocks & back, drove almost 3 hours, & changed a flat in 93 degree heat on the side of the LIE. And it still felt like a holiday because I wasn’t reading the news of our country on the brink of fascism.

Simple two at a time socks knitted toe up using plain knit stitch, approximately 3/4 of the way complete (about 13” from toe to current row), using a variegated almost-striping yarn with pink, light blue, and yellow shades.

And I got into the bad habit of noodling on my phone to give my hands something to do, instead of picking up my socks in progress. I know that split attention is so bad for my brain, but it’s easy. I could be done with these instead of on level 2045 of that dumb game!

Oof, that feeling when you’re waiting for stuff to fall into place so you can get started! I agree crafting tends to “feel” better in the winter when there’s less to do outdoors. I transmuted my ennui into energy to empty some packed boxes & clean the lizard cage. Now I’ve “earned” my crafting time!

Instead of making a quilt, or knitting a toy bunny complete with wardrobe and carrying case, or visible mending my husband’s pants, I’m sitting here looking at photos where others have actually accomplished these things. #AmbitiousButTired

Literal crisis. Help me. Took some photos of my face without glasses and realized my left eye is just a wee bit lower on my face than my right. That’s not the crisis. Now suddenly every face I see has one eye slightly lower than the other. Have we always been this way and I never noticed?

Thinking about how I mended the giant rip in the back of my dressing gown but only did a utilitarian job of it rather than decorative. But for something like that I will sacrifice saying “look how pretty this is!” in favor of “look how done this is!”

Like, I have to figure out how ask Google “how many girl cucumber flowers can one guy cucumber flower impregnate” without turning my search algorithm into a nightmare.

Oh my lord I just learned that because I have no bees on my cucumbers I’m going to have to pollinate them myself. I now know what a male vs a female cucumber flower looks like and how to couple them. And I feel vaguely grossed out.

The best thing about knitting with solid black is that if you can’t see your mistakes, sure as heck no one else can either.

I’m a horror fan. I love Stephen King books. I loved the first season of Stranger Things so much I wrote to the Duffer brothers in my one and only time using Twitter. Yet here I am 9 years and four seasons later, S5 premiers ON MY BIRTHDAY, and all I can think is “Meh?” #RuinedFranchises

He’ll be 24 in a few days, just got a job working at a local restaurant as a baker after almost 8 months out of work! He’s been a great help around the house during his hiatus and he loves helping in the garden.

I forbid anything bad from happening so you can enjoy the good!! 🥰

The sounds awful. I’m similar but not so extreme. I put on the Office with the brightness all the way down. The theme song is obnoxious but the rest is weirdly comforting. Feel better soon!
