This is my first interview in 18 years. I feel nauseated. It’ll be fine. I’m still nauseated.

Only a few folks in my real life know my husband & I are closing our sign shop. I have a job interview tomorrow. The job is a perfect fit, skill & location wise. I think I can get a decent salary. Our financial troubles may be lessening. And I’m scared half to death. Send me 💕, internet strangers.

I need a community of progressives who are all feeling the drag-down of Chicken Little left wing social media where we can keep each other’s spirits up to fight the fight. I’ve blocked a whole lot of creators that I feel are hysteria-stoking propagandists. I don’t want smoke up my ass, just hope.

My latest frustration is a caller trying to give me a business loan multiple times a day. And the other night I was drifting off to sleep and I got a group FaceTime call five times in a row before I just disabled FT altogether.

The one conspiracy theory I can get behind is that the government wants everyone using wearable health trackers. Why? I don’t know. But it sounds right. Which is why I love that my feed is full of Apple Watch ads that tempt me none whatsoever.

I can already see I’m gonna be white knuckling Dry January on exercise endorphins and my kid’s second hand weed smoke.

Driving to Long Island from my hometown today was an adventure. We got an hour away from home before the snowfall started and it was agonizingly (but prudently) slow going. Safe and sound, and having an adult beverage.

Mom (87) was 0 and 1 this year. She did not mention my weight even once, but she did remind me how much she prefers my hair short. My hair is one thing that people consistently compliment and I love it longer. But my 57 year old ass still gets defensive when she passive aggresses me.

To all my non-holiday loving fam, we made it. I sang in approximately 13 holiday performances and I will be so glad to give those tunes a yearlong break.

I am bad at this. I thought I was such a kind and open person but I am struggling to communicate with my dad who’s been declining due to Alzheimer’s. My brother, who lives here, does this day in and day out. Surely I can do it for four days. It’s just so hard. He’s still my dad. But so different.

I’m all psyched up for my next Halloween costume. But there are ten months (and infinite chicanery) between that and the vanity fair article so I feel certain everyone will have forgotten and won’t recognize who I’m supposed to be.

I enjoy the Popular feed on Reddit and I’ve muted a good number of anime subs from showing up because I don’t need to see giant cartoon boobs over and over. Today I muted my first non anime accounts and both of them were about Real Housewives. I’m no snob but jiminy Christmas people watch this?

A day in which I get to make a thing is top tier. A day in which I get to make TWO entirely different things AND sing for holiday shoppers for two hours is downright unfair to the rest of the world. How’d I get so lucky? (Thing photos to come…)

I would guess it’s because we’re mostly old and mostly white. And while I do agree that old white people are the cause of a lot of the worlds troubles, I’d also argue that those who create music tend to be the ones who value beauty and kindness. So people who don’t know, judge.

The only remaining acceptable hate on BlueSky seems to be targeted at barbershop quartets. Punch up not down, people.

My friend needed the sleeves shortened on her polyester jacket. The sewing machine was not a fan of this material so I spent a quiet evening slow stitching the hem with a blind stitch. Heck, even a sharp hand needle needed to be convinced to go through this stuff. #Mending #HandSewing

I recognize that (sadly discontinued) yarn! I have socks from that same yarn that I mended with a mending loom (speedweve style) using contrasting yarn. I like my mends to be super visible.

We neither forgive nor forget. And we bust our asses to get a progressive in that seat.
