Agreed, for sure, that One Battle is about as direct as I expect to see. Clearly siding with the revolutionary, clearly indicating that white supremacacy is a threat not just to individuals, but specifically to their kids. PT Anderson's films can seem remote, but this one is hitting home IMHO.

I feel like there's a piece comparing this to the first hour of Beau is Afriad. Thought Leo did a job on playing someone who had put his revolutionary days behind him and settled for minimal effort lifetyle. He's not a wacky character, but an anxious man running around in his goonie, worked for me!

PT Anderson isn't exactly a box-office machine, but this film will make money, it's going to be a hot topic for a long time particularly the way America is going. I think Deadline said that the director 'has never spoken to his audience so directly' and that's the nub here; it's a now 2025 movie...

I'm all in on this movie. I loved it. DiCaprio will get an Oscar nom, and this should get at least six. Even if its on streaming, it'll be in cinemas in Jan/Feb/March with regular IMAX revivals. But I think this is bigger than an awards season movie, they rarely say anything about today, this does!!
