Anyway, switching back over to RE9 now, but I’m very exited to dive back into Turok when I’m done

So I beat Turok 2 today (another childhood goal) because I wanted to move on to RE9. But, I was a little curious to start Turok 3 because I never even knew it existed until I bought the remaster trilogy. This game is SO different and WEIRDLY similar to Resident Evil game?? Has anyone played Turok 3?

A better version looks like it might be the upcoming movie Exit 8 which is based on a similar backrooms style video game. Looks creepy as hell, so if Backrooms doesn’t pan out, at least there’s that!

A group of second generation aliens sleeper cells have spent their entire lives assimilating to human culture and gathering intelligence for the home world. To them, the eventual overthrow of farth has always been a distant goal meant for future generations. Now, when ordered to abduct and replace a human girl they have betriended, one of the alien operatives realizes that they have grown to care more for their found home and family than they do for their own people. She sabotages the abduction and goes on the run with the human girl. Oh god, I just played all the DK’s before Bonanza, and having to do DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze without rewind was BRUTAL. Good to know I CAN do it, but had a lot more fun with the NSO titles haha (DK64 was another childhood classic I finally only beat as an adult)

God what a great game, though I still need a healthy does of NSO rewind to beat those early sidescrollers

Something that really stuck out to me this time was the sound design. The music and item collection sounds are so good. First time I grabbed a triangle token, that metallic twang instantly sent me back in time

Thank you! It’s admittedly less impressive as a 33 year old man than it would have been as a 6 year old child, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling fantastic about it

Not nearly as hard as I remember, though admittedly the controls are VASTLY improved on the remaster. Now time for another childhood goal: beating Turok 2

One of my earliest video game memories is playing N64 Turok late at night with my brother and dad and never being able to beat it without using infinite ammo/lives/all guns cheats. Well I decided to finally give it a genuine try again, and I just did it. No cheats. Childhood goal accomplished.

I was 10 when the trailer came out and I remember trying to convince my parents to go to the theater just so I could see the trailer a second time
