Finally, the fifth panel will highlight and contrast the research on gender and politics with the actual experience of parliamentarians from across Canada.

The fourth panel will tackle institutional policies and programs, with Shaila Anwar and Toni Francis from the Senate, Eric Janse and Guillaume LaPerriere-Marcoux from the House of Commons, and Rick Yarish from the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.

Then, we'll have @elizabethjevans.bsky.social and @laurenceparent.bsky.social discuss disability and representation in a comparative perspective (Canada/UK).

Reconciling parenthood and Parliament will be the focus of the second panel, explored through various viewpoints (elected officials, staffers, academics).

With former MP David De Burgh Graham, former Whitehorse city councillor, Michelle Friesen, @amandamclaren.bsky.social, and @melomas.bsky.social.

The first panel will delve into electoral campaigns and will unpack inclusion/exclusion processes that impact the representation of minoritized populations in Parliament.

Carney will be invited to form a govt by the GG.

Carney will be the Prime Minister-designate during a transition period (could be really fast or a few days).

Once the transition is over, Trudeau formally resigns as Prime Minister, and Carney is appointed PM.

The date indicated in the proclamation issued by the Governor General for the opening of a new session can be moved to an earlier date by means of another proclamation.

This means that the next LPC leader could meet with the GG and ask for such a change.

I also think there should be some thoughts about the lack of reproductive justice for gay couples who want to have kids in Canada. The economic inequality for us needing to go through ART, sperm donors (💲) and fertility treatments is astounding, and not all provinces have the same coverage.
