A couple of small dragon pieces I finished. These are convex canvases, and I found them to be a little tricky around the edges with more specific subject matter, but with natural ones like clouds they just flow! Working on a larger one now, as well.

Been working on a hades/Persephone commission… we’re starting to come out of the ugly phase!

Ever had two thoughts conflict in your head? I just had “I need to put on chapstick” smack up against “bleh, get my hair out of my mouth” and somehow that resulted in putting the chapstick IN my mouth.
Sigh.

Working at the easel, missing the warmer weather… but remembering how I was missing the cooler weather when I was sweating instead 😂

You do have to follow fat over lean, but even the paint itself is actual oil. These will always have a drying timeline. Try an alkyd medium instead of linseed oil (I use a walnut alkyd, speeds drying considerably)

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

I assume no alkyds involved, so in short it’s drying like a normal oil painting - it’s a long process. Could be a little while (weeks)

I just yelled “ENOUGH WITH THE MF’ng STATIC!!!” at my own hair like it was personally responsible.

#TikTok is back, and what I was feeling before is amplified. I do not like being used to manipulate.

As an artist, I have to have require social media. However, needing something doesn’t mean you’re blind to it. These billionaires and their stupid games hands need to stop.

You know you’re on your phone too much when you set it down and a text comes in, and your cat tries to answer it for you.

It was 10:30 my time. I figured it was going to be midnight, but I guess they were excited to do it! My international friends say our accounts and videos are still there and viewable.

Well, my #tiktok is down along with the other USA users. I think I’ll relearn how to watch tv 🤔 😉

Sometimes I have so many projects going that I get overwhelmed and nothing gets done. 🤦‍♀️

Well, except being disappointed in myself. That gets done really well.

Anyone eat too many skittles and then wonder if tasting the rainbow could also give you a heart attack?

This year is starting off with lots of shuffling of my social media, and LOTS of commissions… which makes it look far too quiet over here. I feel like I’m under construction, or something. I’m so excited about my new work, and can’t wait to share it! To my new followers, hello!

Found out that the game #oregontrail is on sale for my switch. I feel like a little dysentery might be in order, a little reminder of the game trauma from my youth!

I’m in the busiest Jan I have ever had for my studio, and in the midst of trying to learn where to land with social media. I’m figuring out making videos and shorts for YouTube, filing business taxes, and… I need to clone myself or get a tech savvy intern. And to think folks think we just “art” 😂

My cat, Odin, has been at the ER vet twice this weekend. The second visit it was determined he was too high (off the meds prescribed) to potty properly. That was a very VERY expensive “your cat is blitzed” visit. 😑
