One of the modern classics when it comes to movie memes! I sometimes say that out loud, to no one in particular, when the trains are cancelled or something and everyone's dismayed. It's a surprisingly versatile thing to say.

But a lot of the "why" is filled in by assumptions and speculation, cause they kinda just breeze through the first act. Still, once you see the full thing you realise what you've missed! (Different vibe with Alien3 which, if anything, could have used more cuts, hahaha...)

aliens benefits from the extended cut - classic case of simply having a long movie. they had to cut scenes that make everything make sense, hoping people wouldn't notice because of the constant action hahaha.

a classic tbh. both alien and aliens are childhood faves. I just really liked how it feels like every moment something horrible or stupid can happen. Oh, and there's always at least one asshole who'll betray you, don't forget!!
