100% Clean Energy Hours from 2022-2025. Text says: This chart shows how many hours 100% clean energy met or exceeded demand on the California Independent System Operator grid, which manages about 80% of the state's electricity. In 2025, 1,856 hours, 1,227 hours in 2024, in 2023, 687 hours and in 2022, 147 hours.
Text says: In 2025, California's grid ran on 100% clean energy, more than 50% more hours than 2024. Bar graphs shows that in January of 2025 hours totaled more than 1,800 hours compared to more than 1.200 hours in 2024.
California isnβt just leading on clean energyβitβs adding more all-clean hours to the grid every year.
More clean-energy hours = cleaner air, less reliance on older, high-emission resources, and a grid that shows up when demand is high.
