Finally made it to the slopes this season. With temps in the 30's and Bluebird skies wait was worth it. Was at the Porkies Ski Area in UP, MI. With stunning views of Lake Superior and a vertical drop of 670 ft., it's one of the tallest and most scenic in the region. Was a great day with son, Justin!

Looks like this Black Bear is preparing well for winter. This practice of storing as many calories for hibernation is also called hyperphagia. Took this just north of Duluth, MN.

I knew I noticed a lot of Blue Jays the last few days along Superior's Shore near Duluth, MN, which is where Hawk Ridge is. Turns out they tallied over 8,000 Blue Jays on their amazing bird counts from 9/17/25 This is my first and only painting of this species "Blue and Gold", acrylic, 8x8
