Thankfully I have a wonderful partner who supports me and have found a more accommodating job and schedule so I’m not so sick as often. I am very grateful.

“Palpitations”
Before I got diagnosed and started getting the care I needed, I use to get so sick from the combo of autoimmune disease + my heart disease. A lot of the time I felt like I was just lifelessly floating. I was stuck at home a lot and art was one of my only outlets.

painted a tattoo I’ve been wanting to get!

Johnnie isn’t the best quality painting but he re-sparked my love for art and physical creativity in a real hard and dark time in my life. He definitely will always be a favorite of mine!

Acrylic Painting, all bright/neon colors. Background is a start night sky with a pink sand. There’s plenty of alien like plants with weird colors. Some of the plants look like fire and others look like giant leaves. The focal point is a blue cowboy alien, sitting by himself sad. He has a lit cigar in his mouth.

“Johnnie”
This was the first painting I did as an adult! I did a lot of art as a little kid but didn’t pick it back up till I hit 21. Johnnie was the first of many sad cowboy alien paintings. The others were commissions I did for friends, each of them with their own alien name like Lloyd and Jeb.

What kind of paint do you use? I love the colors!

Collage art, background is a blue sky with white fluffy clouds. Magazine cut outs of letters spelling “what will make me happy?” Is over the sky. On the bottom half are magazine tear outs of a man and woman in lingerie, a christian cross with the words “Psalm 144:15” written on it, a large house attached to a lighthouse isolated off the shore of a beach, a prescription bottle with pills spilling out of it, and a razor blade with powdered drugs. Throughout the collage are newspaper clippings of tragedies from around the world.

“What Will Make Me Happy?”

Collage art, background is made of Monopoly money. Magazine letter cut outs spell the words “deny, defend, depose”. Magazine cut outs of guns are spread throughout the collage. The main focal point is a colored pencil drawing of Luigi Mangione in his famous green jacket and black scarf from the “help identify this man” photo. Outlining the letters, guns and Luigi Mangione are cut outs of United Health Care’s denied claims reconsideration forms.
