Züri Briefing #1082: Lohndiskriminierung bei der ETH

Zurich has an extreme shortage of homes and land. Since 2019, it's been working to expand rights to build taller buildings. In a familiar story, 3 left parties and thefar-right party allied to block the changes, which will push folks with least choice out of the city.

ART IN SPACE AND TIME
FS26 SEMINAR WEEK [ZÜRICH / 16-20 March 2026]
Fuzzy Architectures
Experiments on Sonic Spaces and Vibrational Imagination
with Dr. Nicole L’Huillier

This workshop explores sonic spaces and vibrational architectures through a transdisciplinary approach to sound, listening, and spatial experience. Together, we will navigate fuzzy territories, invisible architectures and immaterial worlds—oscillatory structures that shape our shared environments, relational dynamics, and perceptions of reality.

By probing these resonant fields, we will explore acoustic phenomena and trembling languages through artistic and theoretical frameworks as well as hands-on experimentation. Guided by the poetics and politics of listening, as well as the creation of experimental apparatuses for sending and receiving vibrations, the workshop will approach sound and vibration as strong material forces for constructing sonic spaces, shaky situations, and other forms of fuzzy architectures.*

*Fuzzy Architectures gently disarm clarity, and diffuse rigid lines, letting vibrational forces soften boundaries and open other modes of sensing and imagining.

Cost Category: A (<250 CHF)
Max. Participants: 25
Includes base workshop materials, entry tickets, tours, and some meals. Final artwork/project expenses are not included in the costs.

A letter from artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres to his lover, Ross Laycock, written in 1988. It is a page that includes at top a drawing of two clocks nestled next to each other. Below, this text:

Lovers, 1988

Don't be afraid of the clocks, they are our time, the time has been so generous to us. We imprinted time with the sweet taste of victory. We conquered fate by meeting at a certain time in a certain space. We are a product of the time, therefore we give back credit where it is due: time. We are synchronized, now forever.
I love you.
