@rednikki It's radish, broccoli, lettuce, endives, garlic, and onion (basically everything leftover from last week's CSA) all in a salt brine. Someone already claimed half a pint, but the other half is yours if you want it!

I just finished a batch of super-garlicy lacto-fermented relish and I have about a pint more than I can use. Would anyone in #SomervilleMA or #cambridgema be interested in taking it off my hands? It's super good on sausages and sandwiches.

I just finished a build-tool project at work and had to learn a ton about CMake in order to do it. This knowledge feels... burdensome. How did we allow this tool to stay so stuck in the proverbial Stone Age?

@crystalvisits Give it a try! Food Land sells piloncillo, and so does Market Basket. Only let it ferment until there's some white scuz at the top, like 3-4 days max, otherwise it turns to vinegar really quickly. Also skim the scuz before bottling.

Pulled this tepache out of the crock tonight. The less-than-ripe pineapple gave it a good tartness but I should have added a lot more piloncillo to compensate for it. The drink has a subtle viscosity which gives it a great mouthfeel.

Like I don't understand why PepsiCo is bothering with all this stupid cross promo impulse buy shit when Truffle BBQ potato chips are right there for the taking.

Tonight for dinner I made a cheeseburger with Trader Joe's Truffle Aoli and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. I think I created the ultimate Icon of American Flavor. It had salt, sugar, intensity, umami, and an intriguing subtle artificiality to it. I took one bite and immediately wanted 30 sandwiches.
