Peatland Figures taking new shape for Artists Bookmarket in Edinburgh Fruitmarket this weekend.

Here some are placed on a soil map of Drenthe (NL) with a background of β€˜figures’ (ie scientific illustrations) from a book about the province’s history of peat excavation.

What a delightful and thoughtful process, to work with @peatlandslife.bsky.social to prepare this article on key themes from experience of peatlands, art & different kinds of community.

Artists Bookmarket I’ll be showing work with a peaty theme including a selection from RE-PEAT. Re-using materials offered studio work serendipity and discoveries.

Good to see! In Dutch news, the UK report on ecological breakdown in terms of national (in)security. Far too little coverage in UK.

It was the warmest January. Missing the cold, I was pulled uphill today by hoarfrost. Ice crystals lined up on sheep wool on worn-out heather, and walls with lichen in bud. Sun broke through.

Hello Bluesky. I look forward to good company on this platform!
