Asimov’s Foundation is one of the greatest books ever written. Apple’s TV adaptation is ok… but strips out 80% of the story and then wastes 15 minutes of every episode explaining what’s missing.
Producers I beg of you. Lean into longer more detailed stories. SHOW don’t tell.

Harris was always my second choice for governor, you were always the first :D Let's build housing, let's fix homeowners' and health insurance, let's focus on a return of tax dollar investments in CA.

Rep. Katie Porter Lays Out Her Plan to Lower the Cost of Housing
Shoked Harris isn't going to run for CA Gov, however delighted as it puts @katieporteroc.bsky.social in the lead. Porter is my personal favorite over Harris anyway. Like Buttigieg she consistently cuts through the noise and offers smart, practical solutions like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7h8...

Another example is Costco and Instacart. Costco.com prices are higher than in the warehouses, plus you pay a delivery fee on top of the markup. Or you can order through Instacart, and they mark up prices even higher than Costco_com and have delivery fees and tips on top of the marked up prices.

It’s complicated… DD, GH, etc are marketplaces just like Etsy or Airbnb and they charge a LOT to access that market. I wish it were easier for these food businesses to be online without relying on these marketplaces but e-commerce and delivery are not trivial infrastructure to build and maintain.

“South Park” Skewers a Satire-Proof President
The new season première goes after Trump as never before—and solves a problem that’s plagued comedians since his first term in office.
“South Park” has managed to offend nearly every political group, pop-culture fandom, and religious denomination. Now it’s managed to piss off Donald Trump like never before.

Congress has decided to claw back previously approved funding for public media.
This decision hurts people in communities across the country, but it has only strengthened our resolve to keep Americans informed and connected. (1/2)

It’s insanely disappointing how quickly the US is falling behind China in AI and high tech manufacturing like EVs, solar panels, large wind turbines, batteries, high speed rail, robotics, drones… and the list goes on.

Hi, #3dprinting. As of a few weeks ago, I'm unemployed.
I want to do this full time. Be the filament librarian for real instead of just on the weekends, like I have for the last six years.
Can you help? forum.filamentcolors.xyz/d/31-a-call-... Reposts appreciated!

More proof Trump is clueless. Russia is already extensively sanctioned and accounts for less than $3B in imports to the US. Looking from the other direction, less than 3% of Russian exports go to the US.
Good grief… Brasil imports 4x more from Russia than the US does.

I appreciate the optimism of this parking validation machine

Every time I see a clip of a White House press pool reporter asking a question, I cringe at how poorly phrased it is. It should be, "Is prosecuting the sex traffickers and pedophiles identified in the Epstein report a priority for this administration? And when might we see arrests?”

Reporters - frame your questions in an active voice and it's much harder for them to dodge:
"What's preventing warning systems from being installed?"
"What has been a blocker for installing sirens?"
"When will the community hear plans to prevent this much death in the future?"

Grok explaining Trump cuts pushed by Musk DOGE contributed to Texas flood killings -“Favts over feelings”
Twitter user: Grok just said, “yep, Trump and Elon killed those girls.”
Grok: “Not my exact words, but close enough”
Please note that at the same time Grok calling Musk a children killer is apparently just fine - (if not something to be proud of for ‘no empathy’ head cheerleader?)

Musk has adjusted Grok’s algorithm so it’s now a neo-Nazi.
Pretty cool that almost every progressive commentator, elected official and organization still uses Musk’s X algorithm to communicate with the public! Good job guys.

Nice model! I’ve been thinking about this, would be my first 3d printed costume so I’m naive but thought about heat forming smoked poly carbonate on a mold to make the black parts see through. 3d print the rest.
