so i will say for this specific scene lip flaps aren't really an issue but yeah

yeah, i'm sure the voice actors themselves are fine but the direction and workflow over here come pre-fucked out of the box due to how working conditions are in the US

i think maybe the worst scene to fuck up in chainsaw man is actually reze telling denji before their battle that her feelings were real. i really don't like that in english both characters sound like they're Doing A Voice rather than actually expressing something genuine

still thinking about the english dubbed clip of chainsaw man i saw that elicited this reaction. every guy sounds like the breaking bad "Tell This...ASSHOLE" parody clip and somehow the womens' voices are directed even more poorly. what is fucking going on in dubbing now

i just saw a clip of the reze arc movie in english and i will be so real with you i would not watch a full length movie where the characters sounded like that

my only kvetch has nothing to do with the movie itself; i feel bad that people who harassed the director of the first season for toning down the manga's palette and character acting to better evoke its live action film inspirations will walk away from this feeling validated because the movie rocked

not to mention its beautiful animation, powerful voice acting, brilliant score--it was a real tour de force. holy shit, dude.

chainsaw man movie was fantastic. sometimes you go for a bit without seeing chainsaw man around & you forget how good it is--& the reze arc was an incredible high point to begin with--so when you come back to it you get absolutely slammed by fujimoto's writing full force. that's what happened to me.
