Supporting women also means supporting the systems families depend on:
β’ Childcare as economic infrastructure
β’ Rural healthcare access
β’ Leadership that reflects the whole district
When women succeed, communities thrive.
On #InternationalWomensDay we recognize the women who shape our communities across the Southern Tier and Western New York.
Farmers. Nurses. Teachers. Veterans. Small business owners. Public servants. They strengthen our families and our economy every day.
Protecting elections also means protecting the right to participate in them.
If you believe Congress should defend both the Constitution and the right to vote, stay engaged and make your voice heard here in NY-23.
#SAVEAct #VotingRights #AaronForNY23 #aaron4ny23 #ny23 #wny #ProtectTheVote
The SAVE Act could block millions of Americans from registering to vote by requiring documents many people donβt have.
Voter fraud is already extremely rare, but the burden would fall hardest on rural residents, seniors, working families, & married women whose names have changed.
Leadership is stronger when it reflects the full community.
This month, Iβm grateful for the women across NY-23 who build, design, teach, heal, serve, and lead every day.
Take a moment to recognize one.

She expanded what leadership could look like.
Kate Gleasonβs life reflects something enduring about this region: innovation rooted in skill, discipline, and determination.
Her work strengthened the industrial backbone of Western New York.
In 1914, she became the first woman elected to full membership in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
She did not wait for permission. She contributed. She led.
She worked as an engineer, led sales efforts across the country, and later served in executive leadership. At a time when women were rarely welcomed into manufacturing, she helped grow the company into an international business. It continues today as Gleason Corporation.

Image left side bold red, white, & blue text w/ stars reads βAaron Gies for Congressβ & the slogan βMaking a good life affordable for NYβ23.β On the right, Aaron stands outdoors in a suit, smiling . Gies for Congress Expresses Concern Over Iran Conflict Olean, NY - Democratic congressional candidate Aaron Gies expressed concern over the widening conflict in the Middle East following strikes conducted by the United States and Israel beginning on Saturday. He noted that understanding the nature of Iranβs ruling regime is essential to assessing the risks of escalation. βIranβs government is murderous, corrupt, and unpopular with the Iranian people, but it is deeply entrenched,β Gies said. βA successful transition toward freedom and democracy led by the Iranian people alone is unlikely. Even so, America should not attempt another regime change war. I oppose any move to send American soldiers to fight on the ground in Iran.β Gies emphasized that Americaβs military is capable but that military power alone cannot resolve the longβterm consequences of conflict. βOur armed forces are the best in the world. I trust them to achieve any reasonable military objective, but Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Afghanistan have shown us that refugee flows, political instability, hunger, sickness, and environmental damage are not problems military power alone can solve.β He also warned of the economic costs of a prolonged conflict. Oil prices have risen sharply and U.S. missile systems are expensive and slow to replace. βAt a moment when so many Americans are struggling to afford the necessities of life, there is no excuse for launching a war of choice that costs taxpayers billions of dollars per day and is likely to raise costs for months or even years,β Gies stated. βI support democracy at home and abroad,β Gies concluded. βA free and peaceful Iran is a worthy objective, but bombing alone cannot achieve it, and may even move us in the opposite direction.β

On Iran:
My role in Congress will require me to approach moments like this with thoughtfulness, conviction, & a clear sense of responsibility. As we work to clarify this evolving situation, I want to urge all Americans living or working in the region to remain vigilant & prioritize their safety.
Momentum does not start in Washington. It starts here.
I hope youβll join us at the upcoming Bipartisan Town Hall with Jim King, and participate in the future of NY-23.

People are ready for serious conversations about how to make a good life affordable again.
Iβm willing to engage in good faith with anyone who gets that. Our district deserves more open dialogue, more presence, and more accountability.
Momentum does not start in Washington. It starts here.
In the last several months, Iβve shown up across this district. I listen first. And I hear the same thing everywhere:
People are working hard.
The basics feel further out of reach.
They want stability.
They want affordability.
They want leadership that shows up.

But we must also protect the district's economy and the ties that make our region strong.
Our tourism industry can compete with anywhere, but it canβt thrive when our closest friends feel unwelcome.
#aaronforny23 #ny23 #wny #canada #eriecounty #tourism #tourismeconomy
Our neighbors arenβt staying away because they dislike Buffalo, Niagara Falls, or Upstate New York β theyβre reacting to political decisions and rhetoric from Washington that strain our relationship with Canada and make travel less welcoming.
We can and should defend secure borders.
This matters for families and small businesses across NY-23. Fewer international shoppers and travelers means fewer jobs, lower sales, and less economic activity in communities already working to recover.

Canadian visitors used to be a cornerstone of Western New Yorkβs tourism and local economy.
This year, officials report Canadian travel into Erie County is down sharply β crossing numbers are off and stays at hotels, restaurants, and attractions have dropped, leaving a real gap in local revenue.

I also want to shout out Anne Joynt, who drove down from Buffalo to introduce herself. As a potential judicial candidate, she canβt carry petitions, but she lent us some moral support.

100 signatures on the first evening is a strong start. But more importantly, it reflects something deeper: people are stepping forward.
Thank you to every volunteer who stood outside last night.
Thank you to every neighbor who signed.
βWe had some great conversations with our neighbors that signed tonight. Weβll be back out tomorrow.β - Ann Marie
βIt was great to get started with a good group of people.β - Kelly
Thatβs what this is about.
Not just signatures.Conversations.
Neighbors talking to neighbors.
A group of volunteers stand together inside a brightly lit room after a petitioning event for Aaronβs campaign. Everyone is dressed in winter coats and scarves. The group is smiling, and behind them is a wall with a simple lineβart drawing of a dogβs face.
Last night in Olean, as temperatures dropped and the light faded, 20 volunteers showed up.
In two hours, they collected roughly 100 signatures.
It was cold. It was dark. And still, neighbors came out.
Volunteer Linda said, βSuper cold & dark but my aunt & I collected signatures.

If you are a registered Democrat, you can sign. You can carry. You can help.
This campaign is built the way strong communities are built. Person to person. Street by street.
Show up. Bring a friend. Be part of the work from day one.
Letβs make this happen!
