For decades, human genome editing has been limited to small, localized modifications.

Today, in a new paper published in @science.org , researchers from Arc's Hsu lab show that bridge recombinase technology is capable of large-scale genomic rearrangements in human cells.

Everything everywhere all at once: Decision-making signals engage entire brain The findings, gleaned from the most comprehensive map yet of brain activity during decision-making in mice, show that the process is even more distributed than previously thought.

Big congrats to @intlbrainlab.bsky.social on two groundbreaking new papers!

Based on the most comprehensive map of mouse brain activity yet, their findings show how decision-making is both widely distributed and shaped by past experience.

Keto diet linked to reduced depression symptoms in college students A new study shows an association between at least 10 weeks of following a well-formulated ketogenic diet and a roughly 70% decrease in depression symptoms among a small group of college students.

A pilot trial found that college students with major depressive disorder experienced reduced depression symptoms, improved well-being, and better cognitive performance after following a ketogenic diet for 10–12 weeks.

Ketogenic Diet Explored for Depression in CollegeΒ Students In a groundbreaking pilot study that delves into the intersection of nutrition and mental health, researchers have put the ketogenic dietβ€”a high-fat, low-carbohydrate nutritional regimenβ€”under the microscope as a potential adjunct therapy for college students diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD). Published in Translational Psychiatry in 2025, this innovative research brings new light to the complex and often elusive mechanisms of depression, suggesting that biochemical alterations induced by diet could hold therapeutic promise for one of the most prevalent and debilitating psychiatric conditions worldwide.
