Something I really like about urbanist bluesky is that it feels like 2016 era housing twitter before it got blown up into a national issue and all the cranks and grifters followed. Probably not good for influence but much more informative discourse.

And it's not exactly a pipedream. HSR is going to go to Sacramento eventually. Dedicated HSR trackage is going to have to be built somewhere and I doubt they'll use the old freight ROWs CC is using now.

Which is frankly expensive. Hence why Im kinda wondering if the state is going to build dedicated Capitol Corridor tracks they might just do some alternative routing deeper into Oakland/Berkeley than trying to build another track beside the skinny wetlands of the eastshore.

I dunno, Heisenberg seemed cool at the end. Especially raking in tons of cash and trying to be the boss and taking down Fring's organization. Especially when it starts off by showing how pathetic and unmanly he was as a teacher with cancer.

Its just annoying when showrunners complain the audience isnt supposed to like their villains. Its like, well maybe they wouldnt like Walter White if you didnt make him look cool cooking meth, or playing banger pop songs when Soprano beats a man, or have epic wide shots of Homelander killing people

Its not about masculinity but Euphoria has done a good job at showing the harms of substance abuse while still making the drug plots engaging and not feel preachy. Mostly about being brutally honest about the bliss of drug use & the overwhelming real world consequence of it.

This is a reoccurring issue in Hollywood. Making a show about toxic masculinity is very difficult because if you direct and stylize it in a realistic way it comes off as preachy but if you glamorize it then viewers are more engaged. Sopranos, The Boys, Dexter etc all fail at this. Mad Men was okay.

Its not popular to say but Americans are pretty stupid and the show directors in the writing and characterization could've made Walter White seem like the absolute loser that he was. But they chose to stylize him as cool and so thats how most dummy viewers took it. Probably got more viewers that way

At the end of the day I just want my standard gauge 580 BART line automated metro. Dont know why SF gets to fantasize and plan for new service on geary, 19th and Central subway yet Oakland's just stuck in 1972 with at best another central station and no new service in underserved neighborhoods
