'Rare sighting' of walrus on rocks off Elie The walrus was spotted near Elie on 31 January but it was not made public in order to protect the animal from onlookers and drones.

The Reminiscence Cafe for the older members of the community (although all welcome) will be meeting at Pittenweem Library (at the top of Cove Wynd) 11am. The chat will be prompted by Burns Night and Valentine's Day. Tea, coffee and cake provided.

Pittenweem Library and the efforts of some very determined locals to commemorate the local clockmaker, John Smith, with blue plaque were in the news today
