I was trying (and failed) to dig up some Catholic connections in Harington's dealings. What draws you to St Catherine's court?

Hi Philippa - yes! He inherited from his father (also John) in the late 1580s. Oddly, I was just in the Somerset Heritage Centre looking at the deeds for the property. JH leased it (and the surrounding lands) to John Blanchard in '91, then sold it to William Blanchard in '94.

Lynda Sayce plays a piece of lute music that was recently discovered in an archival document at the Museum Plantin-Moretus. Since the handwritten lute tablature was folded and reused as scrap paper, it's problaby the first time in 400 years that this music is heard.
