πŸ“Έ What photo, that you have taken, is your favourite? πŸ“Έ

This portrait was chosen by Victorian photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron, as her favourite. Having taken up photography at the age of forty-eight, Cameron became a pioneer of photography.

Wow! I should really have visited when I was down in that neck of the woods. Didn't even get to Kelston - I'll definitely find a way there next time I'm over in the West country.

He did, yeah. And earnt an appearance on South Park for his troubles: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2B-.... I'm sure he'd have loved it. For E1's visit to Kelston in '92 he also engineered a massive fountain you could dine beneath! Quite the chap.

I was trying (and failed) to dig up some Catholic connections in Harington's dealings. What draws you to St Catherine's court?

Hi Philippa - yes! He inherited from his father (also John) in the late 1580s. Oddly, I was just in the Somerset Heritage Centre looking at the deeds for the property. JH leased it (and the surrounding lands) to John Blanchard in '91, then sold it to William Blanchard in '94.

Lynda Sayce plays a piece of lute music that was recently discovered in an archival document at the Museum Plantin-Moretus. Since the handwritten lute tablature was folded and reused as scrap paper, it's problaby the first time in 400 years that this music is heard.

Shakespeare did not leave his wife Anne in Stratford, letter fragment suggests Professor says text shows Hathaway lived with playwright in London, upending the established idea of an unhappy marriage

It’s not often that new biographical details for Shakespeare are discovered. The fragmentary remains of a letter puts him living with Anne Hathaway at a previously unknown address in London. www.theguardian.com/culture/2025...
