Great to see β€œSinners” getting love during awards season. Best time I had at the cinema in 2025 - I came out of that film so pumped up with so many great moments, images and sounds replaying in my mind.

F*ck this Matt Gray reworking of the C64 SID chip β€œArkanoid” sounds amazing! Presses all my retro electro sonic buttons! Amazing back in the mid 1980s still sounds awesome today.

Crazy to think that I worked on games back in the 1980 with some of these guys when they worked up their original 8bit audio magic! 🎢🎹🎧

Oh boy, there are so many great SID chip-tune bangers on this old 2018 Retro Gamer CD!

Thalamusik is f*cking awesome (among many other highlights). πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ•ΉοΈ

Love the fact that my local riverside independent coffee shop indulges my David Lynch fetish by branding their cups as the patterning from the Black Lodge as seen on my lapel Twin Peaks pin badge! 😁

As the shop is named after the Overlook Hotel in β€œThe Shining” I did also appreciate the text printed onto their paper bags.

Discovered a wonderful specialist cinema book/poster shop in Rome over the weekend - β€œOverlook.”

They also had an art book shop too just around the corner which was equally well stocked.

Lots of great Euro goodness, bought a few Italian film posters. Could have spent all day there. 😁

They’re a soppy bunch in reality, it’s all just an act for the tourists, in reality they like to chill out to soft jazz and loll about on soft cushionings when no one’s looking.

Early this morning I had breakfast with the dead of Rome. Got to the crypt super early and had it all to myself! ☠️

A real life MediEvil. Didn’t spot Sir Fortesque. πŸ’€

In Rome getting my Noir on, or maybe it’s a Giallo? Or both!

Here to help a friend do an architectural photo shoot for photogrammetry.

I wish this show would get a physical 4K release as was a masterclass in lighting and photography.

Off to Rome this week to help out a friend with some architectural photography.

So I am reminding myself of the beautiful black and white cinematography of the Italy set β€œRipley.”

Suede were on top form in Cambridge last night. Love the live tracks from the new album. Tons of energy.

Nice but not that one. It literally looked like everything was hand drawn in layers of flat 3D.

Yesterday a video for a 3D game that was all hand drawn planes appeared on my feed. It looked super nice and the devs were having fun. But as I was at the day job I didn’t have time to like it/bookmark it and now it’s lost.

Anyone hit me up with what it was?

Really loved the vibe of this game. Gritty and also darkly funny.

Absolutely shocking hearing Republican commentators defending Trump’s disgusting sexist and racist comments and their initial deflection of details of civilians executed in public.

Any other leader would have brought down by way more minor misconducts.

It all beggars absolute belief. Horrifying.

Lee Miller: In Hitler’s bathtub Vogue model, Surrealist muse – and war correspondent. As a combat photographer with the US forces during WWII, Lee Miller created a unique historic record.

The horrors of the war were to have a long lasting terrible effect on Lee’s mental health.

A fascinating and also upsetting exhibition that is well worth a visit.

You can read more about Lee’s war photography here…

After documenting the horrors of The Camps, Lee had access to Hitler’s apartment so she scrubbed the filth of Dachau over the floor and bathed in his bath so as to stick two fingers up to the fallen dictator.

This quote from Lee at the time perhaps also sums the insanity of a certain leader today.

Lee then went on to photograph the ruins of Europe and the ghastly Nazi concentration camps... Piles and piles of starved bodies, high ranking Nazi suicides, rivers afloat with dead SS (and dogs) and revenge beaten camp guards.

I’ll spare you the upsetting and powerful images.

2. And the Lee Miller photography exhibition. Miller had an incredible career trajectory, from the fashion/art movements of 1920s Paris to documenting London during the Blitz, highlighting the role of women in WW2.

There was also a power cut to lighting, feeling as if we were somewhat in the blitz!
