The difference between "hope" and "lock 'em up" or "mass deportations now".

09.03.2026 16:34 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah, they are REALLY tiptoeing hard around the current government.
09.03.2026 16:30 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Unfortunately, that hasn't worked over the last 30 years.
08.03.2026 17:25 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The first question should always be "As a Christian, do you believe in the separation of church and state?"
08.03.2026 16:25 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Unfortunately this is what happens when you require buildings/businesses/municipalities to install something that many neither understand, nor care about. Lot's of "art".
08.03.2026 15:35 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0From everything I've read, that should be "WAS an absolutely terrible and unpopular choice." Sounds like a done deal that it's eliminated.

06.03.2026 21:02 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Had the same thought going down it this morning. Especially with the watered down maintenance of three lanes (proposed at this same meeting) at the Marginal stoplight.
06.03.2026 20:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yes, both feeders to the down hill (9th and Holden) are only one lane in that direction.
06.03.2026 01:53 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0They could install a tow rope to get us up the hill!
05.03.2026 21:40 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Ebikes really are changing what the "average" person will ride.
05.03.2026 19:32 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I live a house off Holden. It can be pretty frustrating to cross. Especially with a sketchy blind turn.

Highland Parkway is the only option up the hill for bikes in a FOUR mile stretch!
It's so frustrating to hear people who have never riden or walked that hill to claim to be coming from a place of such authority. It leads to a ton of routes at the bottom.
BUMPY dark sidewalk!
05.03.2026 17:57 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Not surprising for public comment. But so many people talking about other roads and harkening back to the bridge nightmare. Just a grievance dump.
05.03.2026 17:57 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I did appreciate how the SDOT employees stressed that this was a safety project first, as soon as commenters started going on bike rants.

The WC is hitting at a time where it's just going to be fourth page news in the USA. The country is unfortunately in turmoil.
Such a shame, all around.
As my wife pointed out. We'll do this project, and within 2 years, most people will have forgotten what it was like before.
05.03.2026 17:41 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'm seeing so many more bikes going up now that ebikes are more prevalent.
05.03.2026 01:49 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's such an easy instant ticket/stop. How are they going to argue against it???
04.03.2026 21:05 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I completely agree that Corgan whines way too much, but it's silly to argue the Pumpkins haven't remained popular, aren't a "legacy" act, and haven't influenced other artists.

Go back and look at a substantial amount of bands in the 2000s.
My Chemical Romance: "The Smashing Pumpkins also impacted the band's trajectory, with Way stating that My Chemical Romance has patterned their career after the Pumpkins'"

I guess I don't see that as "almost", but you're right that they are the closest thing to a modern popular rock band we have right now.
For Spotify numbers, they're at 8.4M monthly listeners vs. 32M for Metallica.
Huh?
The Pumpkins had a national headlining tour in 2023.
They disappeared in 2000 because they broke up.
They have more Spotify monthly listeners (13.6M) than Alice in Chains (11.6M), Rage (10.1M), Soundgarden (9.5M), and Tool (6.4M).
