Black History Month is over but I wanted to share this book I found. I browse the internet looking for unique people & stories every year, which I did, in addition to using this.

There's 366 pages & each day has a person or event specific to that date. February is over but the education continues.

Frankie Knuckles

DJ Frankie Knuckles was called "The Godfather of House Music". Frankie was DJing Chicago warehouse parties in the 70s. He put his own style on disco songs, editing and mixing beats.

He produced several remixes & won the 1st Grammy for Remixer of the Year in 1997.

Annie Easley

Annie Easley was a mathematician, rocket scientist, & STEM ambassador. Her work helped to develop the Centaur rocket project, tech to launch satellites, & the Cassini craft that went to Saturn.

She was also a NASA equal employment counselor & is in the NASA Hall of Fame.

Gil Scott-Heron

Gil Scott-Heron, known for "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" was raised by his grandmother, a musician & civil rights activist. He started writing poetry & began putting it to music.

He also campaigned with Stevie Wonder to make Dr. King's birthday a national holiday.
