We just saw The Bride! and it’s fucking great. Highly recommend seeing in theater. @joshaboldt.bsky.social and I agree it’s the best movie we’ve seen in awhile. Wildly inventive and steeped in movies at the same time.

Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isn’t living in a bubble. I don’t need to know what’s going on at X. I won’t be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

I went in blind for this story, and it had everything and more I expected as it progressed.

This is really interesting! I love etymology. This reply is to my OP about suddenly realizing where the phrase "down the hatch" came from.
