of course, seeing as Tron took a long time to grow a viewerbase (beyond critics who were middling on it upon release) and still has never been a billion-dollar franchise, there might not be a point to speculation

I guess? personally, I think there could've been more confidence in this premise had Tron: Ascension been made at that time, by the same director and team.
in any case, it would've come out before Pixels, the movie people immediately compared to the version of the movie that came out

keeping TRON's Space Paranoids white look to set him further apart from the other black suits in Legacy was an inspired idea. I sorta wish the movie did that, too.

I will say that something I love about Uprising was that it showed a bit more love for the 1982 designs by pulling more of them into the new aesthetic

in Legacy's defense, I'd rather a long-delayed sequel do something radically different than just try to repeat the previous movie's things verbatim. both are good imo

Ares has a part where they replicate the 1982 Space Paranoids Grid though, so idk

Tron 3 was always gonna be programs versus the real world. this was the case even before they froze it for a decade and found a mostly new creative team

People got really bent out of shape and threw a tantrum at Genndy Tartakovsky for making Fixed, suddenly he comes back on top with this & just like before everything falls into place.

So yeah, this looks awesome and I'm excited for it.
