Nostalgia is a poison anyway, so it's probably good that guys like this are in charge of the things I loved as a child so I can let them go.

Laser Joan and the Rayguns A 24 pg one shot adventure comic about an all-female rock band collecting the three stories that originally ran in DARK HORSE PRESENTS.

Just finished "The He-Man Effect: How American Toymakers Sold You Your Childhood", which is a nonfiction comic exploration of the origins of modern toy marketing to children and I *highly* recommend it. It is both fascinating and slightly appalling.

I've read it multiple times, I get what it's doing, I get that it's a well crafted work with powerful themes, I know that it's a wildly influential and important piece of comics history, but I'm never going to like Watchmen. It's just not for me.

That happened to a bunch of friends of mine the last year I did ECCC; they got marooned out on freak island. Sucks that's still going on.
